Is your marriage on the brink of divorce?

On Behalf of | Jun 11, 2021 | Divorce

Each year thousands of Florida residents are involved in divorce cases. Many of our readers probably know someone who has gone through a divorce recently – or perhaps they are involved in one themselves. Divorce is common in Florida and throughout the country, but is there a way to know if your marriage is headed in that direction? According to a recent report, there are some signs to watch for.

Divorce becomes an option

The recent report noted that money issues are frequently the cause of instability in marriages. However, the problem isn’t always that there’s not enough money to live. Sometimes, the problem is that one spouse is a “spender” and the other is a “saver.” It may come down to personalities that simple become incompatible. Another cause of friction in many marriages is a lack of communication, according to the recent report. Particularly for spouses who have been married for many years, perhaps decades, the channels of communication just might not seem to be as open as they were in years past. As couples communicate less, they may begin to feel more distant from each other.

Another problem the recent report noted was when spouses hang on to the past because they feel like there are unresolved problems still lingering over the marriage. This can cause resentment to build up to a pressure point or cause the emotional connection between spouses to start to fray.
